We’re chuffed to team up with The Offside Line team in an exciting new link-up as their Official Community Partner.
This partnership means both Breadalbane and The Offiside Line (TOL) get to share our enthusiasm for youth and amateur club rugby, by finding, recognising and supporting the game at grassroots level across Scotland.
TOL will shine a light on some of the incredible work which goes into keeping rugby vibrant at the pit-face amid the many challenges facing community sport and celebrate the unsung heroes whose dedication helps keep our great game alive.
As well as helping TOL in its mission to regularly report on the news stories which matter to rank and file rugby supporters, Breadalbane will sponsor a series of monthly feature articles from across the country.
Community rugby clubs will be invited to nominate their story ideas and a specially selected judging panel will choose the six successful entrants they believe best encapsulate the spirit of the game, with one club featured every month from January to June 2024. Each featured club will receive an award to the value of £500 to be directed towards kit, equipment, coaching or any other rugby related investment which will best benefit that club.
At the end of the series a public vote will elect our ‘Breadalbane Finance Community Rugby Story Of The Season’ with Breadalbane offering to organise, fund and co-host a community rugby celebration event at the successful club ahead of the 2024-25 season. The celebration will feature coaching clinics, a possible tournament, music, food, beers and a TOL Q&A session with special guests.
“This partnership was a no-brainer for us. I’m one of several members of the team privileged enough to be part of Scotland’s club rugby community, so we know that The Offside Line shares our appreciation and enthusiasm for supporting this incredible – and still vitally important – branch of the game.”
Jamie Lindsay, Director
“Breadalbane’s mission is to partner with businesses to achieve their goals, using modern funding solutions with traditional relationship values,” he continued.
“We, as a service provider, feel Scottish businesses are often short-changed when it comes to service and relationship management, as witnessed through the endless closure of local bank branches and the torturous process we have all experienced when trying to get through to a human being when calling a helpline.
“Specifically focussing on the ‘traditional relationship values’ part of our mission, Breadalbane is committed to working closely with local communities to reinstitute that disappearing sense of community engagement. We have clients in every region of Scotland and want to become known as the go-to local funding partner for businesses in these regions, irrespective of where our head office is.”
“The values we foster as a business are borne from the values our people individually nurtured in our various sporting endeavours, whether that be football, golf, cricket or curling – and none more so than through rugby.”
“We have some team members who have performed at a really high level, while some have never risen above social player status, and the core values that sport and rugby has taught us all are harnessed into our everyday business ethos.
“Thinking specifically about the local rugby clubs we have represented, ranging from Peebles to Perthshire, Dumfries to Stew-Mel, Kinross to Watsonians and, of course, the mighty Trinity Accies… they are all great community organisations, who have the shared values at their core of trust, integrity, professionalism, discipline, work ethic, respect and community partnership.
“We want to engage with those clubs, and all the other great community clubs out there, to promote our mission and to give something back.”
Lindsay added: “Breadalbane is a commercial finance broker, which means if a business wants to borrow money for any purpose, we partner with them, learn what they do and what’s important to them, and then go the lender market on their behalf to source a lending product that achieves their goals.
“We work with the business every step of the way, from initial enquiry through to deal completion and well beyond.”
